Cutting board

I cutting board is used when cutting precise measurements with a scalpel. It also stops you from cutting the table. The many lines on it will help you cut out shapes such as squares, rectangles and many other 2D shapes.

Crafting card

Crafting card is the card you use when making a collage. It's slightly thicker than paper but thin enough to cut with scissors and a scalpel.

Clay slip

Clay slip is used to stick two parts of clay together, it is make out of soft clay and water. Slip is much like glue but will only work well with clay, it also gives the sculpture a smooth outcome.

Mod rock

Mod rock is used in sculpting. You cut parts off and wet it, then you place in the preferred location, leave to dry and you're done.

Dust from dry mod rock can get into throat and if big enough, it can choke.

Poster paint

Poster paint is used in printing, it is rolled with a roller and then rolled onto a block of wood.

Art roller

Art rollers are used for rolling poster paints in printing. They need an even cover to be used properly.

Oil paints

Oil paints are a high quality paint which are used in most professional paintings, they are known to be "forgiving".

PVA glue is used to stick materials like paper together, it is used in sculptures more than sketchbooks

Paint pallets are used to hold your paints when you're painting.

Like scissors, scalpels are used to cut out pieces of paper for collages and other things.

Acrylics are mainly used in painting. The paints are very bold and colourful.

Paper is used to write/draw on because it's plain white and it's easy to see the pen/pencil marks.

Coloured pencils are really good when colouring a tight gap.

Rulers are very useful if you want to get straight lines and/or certain measurements.

Fine line pen

A fine line pen is good for when you've finished your initial drawing. It will help your picture stand out when you're going to scan it.

Pencil


A pencil is a really good material to use, it can be sharp for thine lines, blunt for thick lines and it can be rubbed out.
